Are you inappropriately hungry?
There are two main reasons why you might feel inappropriately hungry.
If you feel hungry, even though you have had plenty to eat, it is probably because your body is starving - for the nutrients that you get from real foods. If you eat processed foods (foods that come in boxes, packets, cans, jars and that you buy in supermarkets, fast food outlets, or take-away) you might be amazed if you get to taste fresh organic produce. And how satisfying real food really is.
Discover the difference by sampling organic bananas, tomatoes, carrots, greens and whatever you can find. Source milk from grass-fed cows, buying full-fat un-homogenised milk, raw if you can get it. Seek out meat that has been raised on grass on an open pasture. Rid your kitchen of everything that comes from a factory - products such as potato chips, any breads that are not sourdough, cookies, store-bought cakes, supermarket pies, sweet things, margarine, and low-fat foods, all of which contain the manufacturer's secret addictive ingredients and are missing the natural fats and other micro-nutrients you need to digest them properly.
If you eat ultra-processed food, remember that these products are designed to be addictive. It is almost impossible to start on a tub of your favourite ice cream, and stop after just one mouthful.
When you eat high-nutrient, natural-fat foods, your body is able to digest them properly, and you get several times as much of many important nutrients
Diabetes or pre-diabetes
Being diabetic, pre-diabetic, or suffering from metabolic syndrome. If you have a high-sugar, high carbohydrate diet, your blood glucose level is likely to swing up and down during the day, causing hunger. Alternatively, if you are able to maintain a state of ketosis by following a ketogenic diet, your hunger and satiety (feeling full) hormones will work properly, and you will have plenty of energy all day without feeling hungry. This is also a great side effect of being able to fast all day.
Stay with it. Its a lifelong change. You'll eat less, lose or gain weight back to normal, your skin will clear, you will have plenty of energy, the mood and energy swings will stop, and you'll feel so much better.
