I had perioral dermatitis for several years until finally discovering pawpaw ointment. Triggers for my PD included stress and steroids prescribed by my doctor, which made it itchier, more extensive and more persistent. Each time I took steroids it improved briefly, but got much worse when I stopped. So I started researching and trying different remedies. Zinc cream and nappy rash cream soothed it a little, calendula cream burned my face but helped reduce but not eliminate the rash. Pawpaw ointment (Lucas) stopped the itching on the first day I used it, stopped the skin flaking in a few days and cleared my face in a month. If the perioral dermatitis starts to appear again usually when I'm stressing or trying new make up or face cream I just use the pawpaw ointment and my skin rapidly goes back to healthy normal.
