Ailment: Weak digestion
Whey is the acidic, clear liquid that remains after you make curds or cheese from milk. Do NOT use whey powder or kefir powder instead of alive, liquid whey. You can make the best whey yourself, using live kefir grains and (preferably) raw milk. If you don't have real kefir or raw milk, yogurt made from pasteurised milk will do, though it is not as beneficial. Use an unsweetened, unpasteurised sour live yogurt, and leave it to stand until it separates into curds and whey. It should have a strong, sour cheese smell, but not unpleasant. If it smells putrid, the culture is probably dead.
Clear, unpasteurised whey will keep in your refrigerator for months or years. Drink a tablespoon before a meal, or at any time. It is a fantastic pro-biotic, helps with digestion and a wide range of digestive problems, and contributes to general health and longevity.

Liquid whey made from raw dairy products is the most amazing remedy, if you can get it. The very best whey is made with real kefir grains and raw milk. If you cannot get raw milk, the whey made from real kefir grains and pasteurised milk is still excellent. The whey should be almost clear, not milky, and have a sharp cheesy taste. It is quite acidic. A small shot glass each day is a wonderful probiotic, tonic and digestive strengthener. This is one of the longevity secrets of many European centenarians.
