My teeth had dark gray-brown stains and my gums were sore and swollen. Every time I brushed my teeth the gums would bleed a little feel raw for the rest of the day. I have struggled with this problem for 10 years and was never able to really get it under control. After reading about hydrogen peroxide, I started swishing it in my mouth every morning. The foaming and kind of astringent taste effect took a bit of getting used to. I could feel it was working but it is also quite harsh. My teeth began turning white again. After the first month I was due for my next dental visit. He was really surprised to see the improvement, and asked what I had done. I told him it was H2O2 and he said he had heard of it but never really looked into it. He told me that my gums are much healthier and the bacterial inflammation is virtually gone. Apparently where the gums have receded they won’t grow back. Overall the change in my mouth is truly amazing. I will continue with the hydrogen peroxide for a few more weeks and then stop, as I feel it is too strong to use indefinitely. For ongoing maintenance I will try the oil pulling remedy mentioned on this website. I want to build up the good bacteria in my mouth again, rather than keeping my mouth sterile.
