Important - first read the notes "Hydrogen Peroxide to dissolve ear wax" in the Remedy description above.
Lie on your side on a towel. Using a dropper, put a couple of drops of 3% hydrogen peroxide in the ear that is facing up. After a minute or two, you will hear fizzing or bubbling. Wait for a couple of minutes, until the fizzing stops. After a minute or two, add more peroxide. After 10-15 minutes the fizzing will stop, indicating that the ear wax has been dissolved. Turn over and let any remaining liquid drain out of your ear onto the towel.
If you have a "slushy" feeling in your ear you probably did not give the peroxide enough time. It feels uncomfortable but don't be alarmed. The ear wax may be dislodged but not completely dissolved. Try again. Sometimes you need to reapeat the process.
Hydrogen peroxide dissolves ear wax very effectively. Here is an interesting test to prove it. If you can gently scoop some ear wax from your outer ear canal, put it in a teaspoon of H2O2. Within a few minutes it will dissolve it completely. You can also use H2O2 to clean earplugs and they will be quite clean after 20 minutes.
