The most important thing to do is eat a low carbohydrate, low Glycemic index diet. Most of your calories should come from the fats you eat, NOT sugars and carbohydrates. The transition may take a couple of weeks, and you may crave sugars and sweet foods during that time. If you can eliminate sugar and all foods made with sugar, and drastically cut down on foods made with flour and refined foods, then half the battle is won. After a few weeks, you will feel so much better, the cravings will go, and it will be easy to continue. Also concentrate on getting sufficient magnesium from foods such as seaweeds (they have the highest content), nuts, beans, greens and other vegetables.
