Grow Youthful: How to Slow Your Aging and Enjoy Extraordinary Health

Ailment: Tinnitus

Remedy: Sesame oil

Sesame oil is widely used in Chinese and traditional medicine. It is warming and soothing. In ayurvedic medicine, it is the best calming oil for a disturbed vata dosha, or constitution.

Only use fresh, organic, cold pressed oil. Sesame oil is damaged by heating. The sesame oil that you buy in Asian grocery stores is toasted.

Seems like it's working for me too. Although my tinnitus is not gone completely, but has reduced to a great extent.

Sesame Oil cured my tinnitus. It soothed it and healed my ears more than any other natural remedy I tried. Invaluable.

I have tried Sesame oil for 2 weeks. It seems to reduced my ear ringing. Now, I don't want to use white noise while sleeping. (Earlier I had to use white noise + fan sound together. Now just fan sound enough) Also, even in silence ringing doesn't make me that irritated in mind. Its like almost absent. Now its at 20-25 decibel. Need to continue my treatment. But sometimes as you said due to cold it increases. Eating ice cream drinking cold water also make it increase in sound. Thanks.

In reply to Emy. Why don't you try the sesame oil treatment? It is most unlikely to do any harm, and may result in an improvement or cure. Please leave a message to let us know how it goes.

I got tinnitus for no reason. I have not exposed to any music. Now I'm having ringing up-to 35 decibels. I use white noise while sleeping. Are you sure Sesame oil cured ringing? Please i'm looking for an answer. I have checked with ENT, Homeopathy and now doing Ayurveda. Not seems to be working.

Gently rub fresh, cold-pressed sesame oil warmed to body temperature behind the ears twice a day. Apply 5 drops of warm sesame oil into each ear. Lie on your side, and drop the warm oil into the ear facing upwards. Leave it for a few minutes while you relax and breathe deeply. Then turn over, and let the oil drain out of that ear. Do this once a day Gently clean out the ears with a cotton wool bud. Do not go very deep with the cotton wool tip or you can damage your ears. Leave a little oil in the ears to reduce dryness. Continue with this treatment for a couple of weeks, and it will noticeably reduce the level of your tinnitus. I find tinnitus is aggravated by the wind, especially when it is also cold and dry. When I have not done the above treatment, I find it is helpful to add a little oil to my ears if the symptoms are getting worse. Put one or two drops of sesame oil onto your little finger and massage it around the inside of each ear.
