Grow Youthful: How to Slow Your Aging and Enjoy Extraordinary Health

Ailment: Psoriasis

Remedy: Lemon juice

Lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, sour whey, Swedish bitters and kombucha are all invaluable aids to improving digestion. Try each of them to find which works best for you.

Mix a teaspoon, or a few teaspoons of fresh lemon (or lime) juice in a glass of water, and drink it 20 minutes before a meal, or at any time. It helps with the digestion of food (good to take before a meal) and a wide range of digestive problems, and contributes to general health and longevity.

You can also use lemon juice and ACV on your skin. The acidity is beneficial, promoting acidic bacteria and inhibiting fungi. The acidity also inhibits demodex mites living in hair follicles and oil glands. Almost every adult has these mites, but in some people their population gets out of control, or their skin reacts to the mites.

Apply undiluted ACV or lemon juice directly on the skin for skin fungus, psoriasis and other skin conditions.

To Sam of Kolkata: the sour acidity of a lemon is required. This is why sweet oranges are not suitable.

In reply to Una. Please read the details on lemon juice at the top of this page. Real, fresh foods are always healthier and more effective than processed foods. Bottled lemon juice from a supermarket has been treated with heat, sugar, preservatives, and maybe other chemicals. It is probably old and certainly not fresh.

Hi Everyone, I have psoriasis and now it's almost gone. Three years ago I almost died from blood poisoning (long story). I put two and two together and realized I have a systemic fungal problem, caused by the overuse of corticosteroids and the massive amount of antibiotics they pumped into me to save my life. This is what I use to get rid of it:
Methylene Blue .1% two drops in a glass of water every morning.
One juiced lemon with a teaspoon of baking soda, mixed in a glass of water.
Probiotics, zinc. magnesium, calcium, vitamin C, folic acid, milk thistle, green superfood supplements.
This is what I have cut down on and avoid:
Less coffee, no booze or alcohol, no bread, and no sugar.
Eat: fresh fish, lots of fruits and vegatables, lean chicken....
Everyone is different because I theorize psoriasis isn't a disease itself, but only a symption and result of something else being wrong. I believe that is the reason everyone is different because everyone has different life experiences. Look this stuff up for yourselves. I've found that doctors don't look for or are ignorant about systemic fungal issues. Don't feed fungi with bread, sugar etc (above) and stay alkaline. An acidic system aids the bad bacteria we all have inside of us. And lastly, do your own research to help yourselves and don't trust everything you read. Good luck to you all!

The comments here are encouraging. I am 66 and have had somewhat bearable psoriasis for 30 years. Then suddenly last year it increased and has become much worse, more and bigger patches and horrible flaking. Almost 50% of my body is covered. At my daughter's insistence, I began to realize that this is a symptom of something wrong internally, like Don from California. I've done a huge amount of research on this condition and for the past month or so I've been taking a lot of products to aid digestion: probiotics, digestive enzymes, cayenne pepper, turmeric, apple cider vinegar, as well as omega-3, vitamin D, zinc, etc. ALSO, I am changing to a healthier diet and have been drinking lemon juice in water, but usually only first thing in the morning. I'll try drinking it throughout the day in addition to rubbing it on the patches. So far, I've found that apple cider vinegar on the skin stops the itching temporarily. Thanks for all the suggestions.
