Weight-bearing exercise. The ideal is three sessions of 45 minutes per week. The stressing and very slight bending of bones stimulates their growth. The exercise can be with weights in a gym etc, or by causing impact such as boxing, kick boxing, or jumping on a mini-trampoline or rebounder
