Ailment: Mites (demodex mites)
Remedy: Egg whites
Egg white contains about 15% protein, and very little fat. Raw egg white is not very digestible, containing several proteins (ovalbumin, ovomucoid, avidin) that block the digestion of nutrients (particularly biotin, of which egg yolk is a rich source). Cooking the egg white until it is solid reduces the blocking action of these proteins and makes it more digestible.
Unlike egg white, egg yolk should be eaten raw, as it has nutrients (biotin, enzymes, vitamins) that are destroyed by heat.
Egg allergy is more common among infants than adults. The allergy is almost always to egg white rather than egg yolk, as it is the egg white that contains the digestion-blocking proteins.

Egg works! Two years ago I had a demodex infestation and it took six months of tea tree oil, castor oil, selson blue, permethrin, coconut oil and olive oil to kill them all. I got cocky and stopped the upkeep, and they came back with a vengeance. So I tried it all again and it was seemingly getting worse or staying the same, no better. Also have a new partner and couldn't be walking around with my weird concoctions all over my face. So I've been doing egg white mask for half an hour, then egg yolk mask for half an hour. In between I look through a magnifying mirror and see black flecks coming out of my skin that I pluck out...put the next mask on, wipe off and again black flecks...pluck those out. Then I put olive oil on my face. So I went from forehead, cheeks, nose, chin all angry and bumpy and flaky and oozy...to practically nothing. As they die off it will get worse, very bad....but eggs seem to kill off mites quicker and I do it every day. So another week and I'd say I'm good. And then I will continue.
