This is how I cured my demodex infection. I quit all sugars, carbs, alcohol, tobacco and any other substances. Diatomaceous earth didn’t work for me. I tried it over 3 yrs, also pesticides, ivermectin flagyl, permethrin. The mites just kept coming back. Went to plenty of doctors and they thought that I was crazy, so did my family. You’re on your own with this. This is what I did to cure it. Wash everything every day, vacuum and wash pets. To get them off your body soak in hot water with strongest dish soap with tea tree oil then rinse off in shower with cold water. Then put dish soap mixed with tea tree oil in hair without water and use vicks vaporub on body. Get a vaporizer with Vicks and tea tree oil. I also took vitamin c and drank a lot of water. I bagged up my clothes every day after drying them then put in freezer for two days. You have to stay on top of it! Skip one day and you’ll get reinfected. It took two months for them to finally go away. This was crazy having to go through this! There needs to be more research on this with doctors and pest control experts. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.
Comment from David Niven Miller. Please read the Grow Youthful web page on demodex mites and their breeding cycle. All this cleaning, vacuuming and washing is NOT necessary! Did you get a professional diagnosis of demodex infection or was it something else, such as bird mites? I am happy that your infection is over, one or more of the remedies you mentioned must have worked – or was it that a bird nest nearby ceased?

I've tried tea tree oil, selenium, zinc, D-3 and B6 and this condition gets better and then worse again. I decided to try to change my diet and after advice from someone who understands nutrition I pureed an organic tomato and one rib of celery. That evening I realized I had not used eye drops all day. I continued to do this each day and added juiced red cabbage and zucchini. I drink 1/2 cup per day of the cabbage mix. My eyes now water naturally, they do not burn, and they look much healthier. Over Christmas I went off my regiment and began to have symptoms again. My immune system is compromised from other health problems and my body does not digest the nutrients it needs, so the pureed and juiced vegetables provide nutrients I was not getting. Cleaning the eyes is still part of my daily plan. I am so grateful to sleep better and to feel better.

To: Camille from Indio. Hello! I'm really trying to figure out a cure for demodex. I just don't want this in my life anymore. Camille i would love to know if you are still on the wheat free diet. And...... how are your demodex symptoms right now? Have you cheated on your diet at all? Have you stop using your TTO products completely? I tried using the products you used, but I had no success. Please let me know. I deeply appreciate it!

I have not posted since the end of January (under Tea Tree Oil). I may have discovered a cure for demodex of the face, hair and eye lashes quite by accident. I had pretty much gotten control of my demodex issues with my hair/scalp and face but I was having to use the 50/50 tea tree oil with macadamia nut oil every week or my dry eyes and itching would return. My husband and I decided to go off of wheat starting February. We had read that wheat has been genetically altered and causes "wheat belly" and other health problems. We learned how bad wheat can be for some people. It was easy to go off of wheat. We substituted rice pasta, rice crust pizza, brown rice, almond, oat and coconut flours for my baking flours. After 2 weeks of being wheat free my demodex problem was completely gone. I have not used one tea tree product since mid February when my eye symptoms were completely gone. It is now the end of March and I still am mite free with no symptoms whatsoever. I lost 7 pounds by going off the wheat too. I feel fantastic. The wheat might have been a host for the mites to "feed" and take over! Now I do not have any problems at all! I hope this will help all of you who suffer from those dreaded demodex. To recap, I went off wheat products and now I have no mites in my hair, face, eyes, and I no longer have dry eyes. My eyelashes are full and long. My blurry vision is gone and I see clearly again. My eyebrows are full. My skin is normal. My hair is getting fuller and fuller with lots of new hairs growing in - especially around my hairline. My stomach is flat like when I was 20. What a HUGE difference living wheat-free has been for my husband and me. GOOD LUCK to you all! I hope you have the same results I have.
