My dermatologist diagnosed me with perioral dermatitisand of course gave me steriods and antibiotics. For 10 long frustrating months I endured this "dermatitis" around my mouth and nostrils. It even travelled to my eyelids at one point. After getting online to research my problem, I read not to use steriods because they ultimately make PD worse. The antibiotic cream had done nothing. It finally just dawned on me that maybe it wasn't perioral dermatitis at all, and that's why none of the remedies were working. He hadn't even tested the rash in the first place, just looked at it and said it was PD. My online research also showed that my symptoms were similar to various fungal and bacterial skin infections. I applied neat apple cider vinegar to the affected area before bed, and by morning there was a marked improvement! I was thrilled. I applied morning and evening for a week and it is TOTALLY GONE!
