I've had scabies twice in my life. The first time it was mild. It took a month before it spread all over my body and I cured it with three doses of Permethrin cream. The second time was a very aggressive form of scabies. Within a week, I was completely covered head to toe. The Permethrin cream just made these scabies angrier. They would lie low for a day after the cream, then come back with vengeance. After countless hours of research, this is what cured me: hot baths with two cups of Borax and one cup hydrogen peroxide and neem leaf powder sprinkled on top of the bath water. When I stepped out of the bath, I would be covered in neem leaf. I let it sit on my skin for 15-20 minutes before washing it off. I did this for several days. In addition, I cleaned the apartment and my clothes daily. That was a year ago and I have been scabies-free since.

I found the easiest way to rid from scabies is to have a bath in emulsified neem oil. Take 1-2 tablespoons of oil and mix it in half a cup of body wash liquid soap or shampoo. You may like to add some lavender oil to help with the stink. When mixed add this to the bath and soak the whole body in it for 10 to 15 minutes. Do not rinse off. Just towel dry and go to bed. In the morning strip the bed. Mites cannot survive off the body for more than 3 days. Therefore it is best not to reuse and bed linen or any clothes without washing. For showers add a tablespoon of neem oil to your body wash to use every day in the morning. The bath soak should be done every 3-4 days for 2 weeks. Things to note: Your chair at work and your carseat can continually re-contaminate you so wash or spray them. I got scabies sitting on someones couch in shorts. Therefore spray your couch and then put a cover over it whilst in the decontaminating phase. Another way you can kill scabies is go to a sauna. Take a complete set of fresh clothes and put the old contaminated clothes in a plastic bag. Do at least 2-3 ten minute sessions and make sure your skin is raised to above 55 degrees celsius. Go naked or speedos if you can't. That will kill them. 7-8 days later when eggs hatch do it again. Good luck. They are such a pain and misery.

I used neem soap and neem oil. They are the only thing that works for my itching. Have tried everything else. Neem messes up the scabies cycles, an they just die off.
