Grow Youthful: How to Slow Your Aging and Enjoy Extraordinary Health

Ailment: Snoring

Remedy: Ghee (clarified butter)

Ghee is clarified butter. It contains a high proportion of saturated fat, which means it is usually solid at room temperature, and is less prone to damage at high temperatures. It is widely used in India for cooking and on the skin. It is suitable for cooking along with coconut oil, and other animal fats such as lard or tallow. In contrast, polyunsaturated oils (the range of "vegetable" oils found in supermarkets) are damaged by high temperatures of cooking and become quite toxic.

In reply to Winnie, I would start with mixing one drop of tea tree or eucalyptus oil with four drops of ghee. Then insert just one drop of the mixture in a nostril to test it.

YES
Insert 3-4 drops of warm ghee into each nostril before going to bed, and again in the morning upon waking. Ghee is used in this traditional Ayurvedic remedy, but I have heard that other oils also work. Coconut oil is similar in many properties to ghee, and can be used in the same manner.
Tea tree oil or eucalyptus oil can also be used. Use just one drop of oil for each nostril. Test it to see if it is too strong - if it burns, dilute it with another oil.
