Remedy: Salt (Sea salt)
Salt. What kind of salt is by far the best, how much to take, which salts to avoid.

YES
Whenever I get laryngitis I have a salt gargle. I mix two heaped teaspoons of sea salt in half a glass of warm water, and gargle slowly for a few minutes. I take my time, so that the back of my throat is salty for as long as possible. This gives good relief, but I still have to rest my voice. When I am in a noisy environment or have loud music, I talk louder without realising that my voice is loud and straining. So to help my voice rest I stay in a quiet environment, or make sure that I don't talk if it is noisy.
