Grow Youthful: How to Slow Your Aging and Enjoy Extraordinary Health

Ailment: Headache

Remedy: Cold shower

Warm water opens your pores, relaxes your nervous system and stimulates blood circulation by dilating your blood vessels. A larger volume of blood than normal then circulates near your skin. If you follow it with a short cold shower, it contracts your surface blood vessels and sends the warm blood back into your deeper tissues. The idea is to cool the surface of your skin, but no deeper.

Cold water closes your pores and stimulates your nervous system. The combination of hot and cold improves your skin tone, and gives it a younger healthier appearance. If you have a warm bath or shower, and finish with cool water, it can increase your peripheral blood circulation, stimulate your entire nervous system including the brain and spine, increase body metabolism and stimulate your immune system.

Finish your bathing with a cold shower, starting for ten seconds, and increasing over the weeks to thirty seconds as you get used to it. It should be cool, but not cold to the point where it is unpleasant. You may find over the months that you will adapt to colder water, but let this happen naturally. Dry, dress warmly, and then spend a few minutes doing light exercise. It makes your body feel alive and tingling, and stimulates your immune system. You will feel rejuvenated and good all day. People who have done this over the seasons say that they have fewer instances of colds and 'flu.

Cold Water has a rejuvenating effect on your skin. Splash your face with cool water twice a day, and finish off a shower with thirty seconds of comfortably cold water. Keep this up throughout your life, and your skin will look many years younger.

Warning. If you are underweight, elderly, and a typical Vata constitution, be cautious with cold showers. You do not want to lower your internal body temperature. You should not induce shivering or feel cold for more than a few minutes.

YES
A cold shower or a swim in the cold ocean is an effective remedy for depression. It should be bracing, but does not have to be icy cold. Always finish a shower with cold water, up to 30 seconds. Get it on your head, that seems to be the most important part to cool, and has the best results for headaches and depression. I suggest also using the Magnesium Oil and Apple Cider Vinegar Remedies on this site as well. These remedies really work.
