I studied up on nascent iodine and how it helps the pituitary gland, and studied up on herpes. I started an iodine regimen and it reduced my outbreaks to a point I've gone two years without an outbreak. I went to a plant based iodine and got lazy, and stopped doing my iodine and between stress mental and physical got another outbreak. I've noticed that iodine once a day for a month or two then maybe one week out of a month kept my glands working best. I don't quite trust the plant based iodine although it taste better. I think the best iodine I found is nascent iodine.
